L2: PW-class laser system with nominal repetition rate of 10 Hz

The intended procurement has for the goal selection of a supplier of anadvanced PW-class laser system with nominal repetition rate of 10 Hz, which will constitute the L2 laser beamline of the ELI-Beamlines facility. The procurement will call for design, construction, testing, and delivery of key components of the system, which must be able to provide pulses with energy of 20 J or higher in pulses significantly shorter than 30 fs, at nominal repetition rate 10 Hz. The system should employ the technology of diode pumped solid state laser (DPSSL) with cryogenically cooled Yb:YAG as the presently preferred active medium, and must be designed to allow straightforward scalability ofthe repetition rate from 10 to 20 Hz or beyond, with single pulse peak power staying at the PW level. The supplied laser shall be operated by an integrated control system and shall include fast machine safety controls sufficient to ensure routine and robust operation at nominalrepetition rate at full energy. The supplier will be asked to cooperate with the ELI-Beamlines team and, at the ELI-Beamlines team’s decision, the ELI-Beamlines project suppliers to coordinate design of specific L2 subsystems with corresponding subsystems and technology solutions implemented at the L3 PW beamline, in order to achieve maximum cost efficiency in the installation and maximum overall performance of ELI-Beamlines as an international facility while keeping the combined cost of operation of the L2 and L3 beamlines at a reasonable minimum. The supplier may also be asked to implement technical solutions demonstrated within a development project on the 100 J 10 Hz pump engine, currently being jointly undertaken by the HiLASE and ELI-Beamlines projects. The delivery is intended to be structured into two phases. Required in the first phase will be design, development and testing of key components of the short pulse part of the PW beamline, which may be carried out in cooperation with the ELI-Beamlines team including, if necessary, other ELI-Beamlines project suppliers. In the second phase, construction, operational testing and delivery of key components of the beamline (namely the pump laser and subsystems of the short-pulse part) will be required.Informace o zakázce
